What to expect during Worship
Wesleyan Methodist theology views worship as a response to God’s love that transforms both heart and life. It is more than music or sermons; it is about encountering God through prayer, Scripture, and the sacraments, and being shaped to love God and others more deeply. Worship leads to both personal growth and outward action, connecting faith with everyday life.
Frequently Asked questions
What’s worship like at Trinity Church?
Our worship style is traditional but approachable and welcoming. Services last about an hour and include a mix of classic and modern songs, group prayer, and some light responsive readings. Pastor Bryson usually preaches for 20 to 25 minutes. We celebrate Holy Communion once a month, typically on the first Sunday. We also take an offering, which often supports causes and organizations beyond our church walls.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. Wear whatever makes you comfortable, whether that’s jeans, sneakers, or your Sunday best. You’ll be welcomed no matter what.
Where do I go when I arrive?
Parking is available on the west and north sides of the building. Visitor parking is clearly marked with white signs. You can also park across the street at Safeway or along 8th Street. Our main entrance is on the south side, closest to 8th Street. You can also enter through the east doors. Greeters will be there to help you find your way to the sanctuary, Sunday School rooms, or anywhere else you need to go. An elevator is available for those with mobility needs.
What happens when I walk in?
When you arrive on Sunday, an usher will give you a bulletin and a small welcome gift. If you need special seating or assistance, such as for a wheelchair or hearing aid, just let them know. Before the service starts, feel free to mingle and get to know some folks. We're glad you're here.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Trinity Church Building.
What if my baby cries or my kids get noisy?
No problem at all. We love kids at Trinity, and they are always welcome in worship, wiggles and all.
We offer a cozy Cry Room upstairs, and a fully staffed nursery (ages 0–4) downstairs with trained adults following Safe Sanctuary policy. Children can enjoy a sermon, Sunday School, or stay in the sanctuary with crayons and coloring pages. There are plenty of ways for them to feel at home.
Can I take Communion if I’m not a member?
Absolutely. We celebrate Communion once a month during our 10 a.m. service, and everyone is welcome to participate. We believe Christ’s table is open to all seeking connection with God.
We serve Communion by intinction. This means you’ll dip a small piece of bread into a shared cup. We use grape juice instead of wine to include children and those avoiding alcohol. Gluten-free bread and hand sanitizer are also available.
What if I haven’t been baptized or have questions about faith?
You are completely welcome here, whether you’ve been baptized or not. We believe God meets you right where you are. If you ever feel called to learn more about baptism, faith, or what it means to join our church, please ask! We would be happy to walk with you on your journey.
